US law firm sues Keith Richards look-alike

Admittedly, there isn't a lot happening in the region I'm from and also if something's happening, it usually doesn't reach the outside world. So I'll try it this way ...

According to a local newspaper (no online source available), US lawfirm Greenberg & Traurig's sueing a small local Jeans label for using a Keith Richards look-alike in their ad. T&G is of the opinion that the photos impinge upon Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards rights and furthermore upon Mick Jagger's rights.
Maybe it wasn't that good either to let the girl next to him wear a shirt saying "Who the Fuck is Mick Jagger".

The fame of the Richards look-alike (an Austrian living in Miami, FL) however isn't that new: Paparazzis already sold several photos of the fake Richards to newspapers ...

But after all that's the best publicity C.R.A.F.T. could have received ... even with Keith Richards (who did a similar thing with Louis Vuitton some time ago) it couldn't have been better :-D

R.E.M. Setlist Dornbirn, January 26 2009

As you might have noticed, the R.E.M. tour is over and the date of this setlist is in the future -
actually it's my birthday and my hometown - and here's the setlist I'd like them to play when they surprise me with a special gig :-)

  1. What's the Frequency, Kenneth?
  2. These Days
  3. Living Well is the Best Revenge
  4. The Wake-up Bomb
  5. Disturbance at the Heron House
  6. So Fast, So Numb
  7. Superman
    --Acoustic set
  8. Gardening at Night
  9. Country Feedback
  10. I Believe
  11. Blackbird
  12. Half A World Away
  13. Walk Unafraid
  14. She Just Wants To Be
  15. (Don't Go Back To) Rockville
  16. So. Central Rain
  17. The One I Love
  18. Animal
  19. Shiny Happy People
  20. Bad Day

  21. Nightswimming
  22. Driver 8
  23. World Leader Pretend
  24. I'm Gonna DJ
  25. It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
  26. I Wanna Be Your Dog

1. Opening
I like it to get blown away after the band hits the stage. So I chose my favourite R.E.M. song first, which is Kenneth, to get started.
Followed by some other rocky tunes. These Days as it's one of my favourites and I never heard it live - and to complete the rockstart, my favourite from Accelerate, Living Well is the Best Revenge. To get a bit down after the furious start, The Wake-Up Bomb is quite right, as it does rock but not as quite as the former three do.
Heron House is also among the tunes I never heard live and it's also a good song to relax, sing to and think about. And that's what you should do before you get blown away again by So Fast, So Numb and then, as last part of the opening set, Superman, which R.E.M. hardly performs live these days.

2. Acoustic set
After loving their unplugged albums, I saw some songs performed acoustic live this year in Stuttgart. And I like it. So I chose to add an acoustic set to my setlist. As acoustic opener, Gardening At Night will do well. It's a song they rarely play - just once on their 2008 tour (Vancouver) and only 12 times in the last 20 years!
Then Country Feedback with its fantastic solo and followed by a short transition to Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone" before coming back to Country Feedback and starting into I Believe with the opening lines I just know from one of the unplugged bootlegs ("Hey man I'm making a move, tonight I'm so much stronger than you, I am so much stronger, I am so much stronger than you"). Then comes the part when I'll join the stage and play the Beatles tune Blackbird on the guitar with Michael singing.
Finally Half A World Away, Ken Stringfellow may join the stage if he likes to.

3. Third set
Walk Unafraid is live so much better than on the album - I'm not saying that I don't like the album version, but it sends shivers down my spine each time I hear it live. Then She Just Wants To Be, my favourite from the "Reveal" album, and only seen once live during their 2003 tour. I've never seen Rockville live and I'd love to hear Mike sing it - so it got included just before South Central Rain with its amazing intro.
The One I Love is the song where I got high five from Michael this year in Stuttgart - so it must be on the setlist. Hey what's the big deal with the next song? I've got to admit that initally liked Animal more than Bad Day when they presented their two new songs on the "In Time"-Tour - but now they're kind of equal for me - and Bad Day's on the list, so Animal must be there too.
Alright, usually they won't play Shiny Happy People anymore, as reason Michael said something like that they're passed this period ... but it's a very special concert so there must be a special thing like that.
To rock the audience once again Bad Day's just right, it's also a great closer.

4. Encore
I chose a ballad to open the encore. I never heard Nightswimming live - and it's on my favourite R.E.M. album. I love Driver 8. There's nothing more to say. The album Green is a great one - my favourite track is without doubt World Leader Pretend. It's also a great song to be followed by a real rocky tune, just like I'm Gonna DJ is. Then It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) - which used to be their closer for many years. It
ought to be the closer this time as well, but I really liked it how Michael stayed on the stage three years ago in Stuttgart and broke into Iggy Pop's I Wanna Be Your Dog. A real frenzy for the ultimate closer.

5. Waiting List
Yep, I didn't include songs that are part of almost each and every R.E.M. gig such as Drive, Man on the Moon, Everybody Hurts or, of course, Losing my Religion. Well I didn't want to include too many songs for they might decide not to come and play this set :-)
But R.E.M. decides to include those four into their set - I won't contradict.

If you're Michael, Mike or Peter and like my setlist, , I surely can arrange a gig. It'd be in the alps, it's snowy andthe next ski-resort is just under an hour away ;-)
